The History of Lares

The beginnings

The original idea of what some day would become in Lares started in the town of Cangas de Morrazo during the 50s.

A mother and a daughter decide to rent several rooms in their family home, that would be rented by workers and also by the first tourists. Fina, who grows between these new neighbors, will be who run the business in the following years.

50s

Growing

Fina and José go one step further and build the first flats dedicated to rent in Cangas, which are mainly rented by families of the town (some of them were living there for decades). Years later they also get several buildings into the rural Cangas: in Liméns and O Hío.

80, 90s

Cintia takes over

The family business becomes in a company (Basalnor S.L.), at the same time that Cintia runs it, looking for a professionalization and modernization. In this times we release our first and primitive website (herbas.es), with photos taken with a compact camera.

Jacobo and more renovation

The transformation carried out in the family business will finally also have an external reflection thanks to the collaboration with Jacobo: thus, Basalnor launches a higher quality website, with its own design, photos and content, where it can show how the homes of the business. And with the new website a name also appears: Alugueiro Lares.

And so, Lares Real Estate...

All things considered, Cintia had years of experience managing family business rentals, and both tenants and other landlords appreciated the way things were done; and Jacobo was used to technologically revolutionizing business projects, so that, almost spontaneously, the idea of creating something new came up. The harsh economic crisis, which especially affected the real estate sector, did not put Cintia and Jacobo behind: they would create a new company, Lares Inmobilaria, that would revolutionize the traditional concept of real estate agency.

...opens in 2010!

This was like Inmobiliaria Lares was born, a new company that its founders, Jacobo and Cintia, built from an unconventional vision of real estate sector.

Excited and after remodeling the office with Mauro Trastoys help, in June 2010 we opened the office on Rúa Fonte do Galo. There we also found a space for Alugueiro Lares team, who would continue to manage their own properties, dedicated to providing the best service to their tenants.

Juanma and the website

Just one year after its release, Lares Inmobiliaria gives a giant step. On the one hand, our team grows with the incorporation of Juanma, quantity surveyor, forming an interdisciplinary team. And on the other hand, we extended services (offering also properties for sale) and we renovate our tools: we buy a new management program and we release a new website, inmobiliarialares.es, changing our way of working.

More collaborations

We start to participate in collaborative projects with "É para ti" ( "it is for you"), a project in which are involved, among others, artists like Santi Jiménez and Santi Jiménez and Mauro Trastoy, on the renovation of a Alugueiro Lares studio on Rúa Zaragoza, in Vigo.

Videos coming

We continue working and we start to show our properties on vídeo.

Our YouTube channel would begin, little by little, to bring visitors to us.

Old Town renovated

In these years, Basalnor S.L. remains a benchmark for us. With the refurbishment of the premises for Emotiva Psicoloxía, conclude the renovation of the buildings of Rúa Fonte do Galo 5 and 7, which drastically changed this central street, now with lot of new businesses on it: Lares, O Galo da Loli, Emotiva, Fonte do Galo Rock and Roll Bar... In this same year they also carry out the renovation of the facade of the house of Rúa Santa Baia with Rúa do Sol (yes, the same where Lares history began).

Lares Nosos renovate

We collaborate in the renovation that Basalnor S.L. does in a duplex in O Hío, documenting the whole reform process. It will be the testing ground for new professional collaborations, but also the perfect setting for the first drone flights and for recordings with next year’s Lares 360 technology. Precisely in these videos Basalnor debuts brand, is now Lares Nosos.

Reinforcements coming

A key year on this path: Rebeca joins the team, landing in our videos, which are now also aerial; Jacobo became an authorized pilot of drones.And that's not all, we start with virtual reality both video 360 and through complete visits in which Anxo, the new audiovisual technician from Lares, takes his first big steps.

Lares on the News 

The media echo the technological innovations carried out by Lares. On the one hand, the digital newspaper Código Cero and Radio Galega entrevistan a Jacobo interview Jacobo to learn more about the use of aerial vídeo and 360 technology in the real estate sector. On the other hand, Idealista, the most recognized Spanish real estate portal, visit us in our Cangas office, publishing a report on Idealist News and an interview with Cintia, also highlighting the use of new technologies.

New website and new office

The 17 was probably one of the most important years for us, with milestones that marked the present of Lares. At the beginning of the year arrived the new website, lares.gal, which meant a profound aesthetic and functional renovation that took us a step further. Later, in the middle of summer, we moved to Rúa do Sol 19, to a place where we did integral renovation in just over 5 weeks, making it the place that best represents us, where we can work and serve you better.

Thus, together, we extend a vision about the current housing that more and more people share.
