Moaña was always a town dedicated and related to the sea, that's why the settlements are found, above all, along the coast. At the same time, the town council has a lot of rural population, spread all over the territory, especially making up little groups of single-family houses with a piece of land. Because of its location the town council of Moaña offers a great variety of landscapes with an ever-present sea: beaches, the estuary full of bateas (rafts where mussels are grown), harbours, the sellfish harvesters working during low tide, ...

PARISHES

Although Moaña has a well-distinguished and growing city centre, the traditional division on parishes prevails: Moaña, Domaio, Meira, San Martiño and Tirán.

DOMAIO

This parish has its first border in the bridge of Rande. Here we can find the highest spot that is the mountain Faro de Domaio of 624 metres of altitude and the Domaio woodland park and from here we can enjoy one of the most impressive panoramas in the Rias Baixas. But Domaio has also some interesting places next to the sea as its dynamic port and inside the “bateas” they grow mussels and oysters. Among the tourist attractions there are some beaches, a marina, several viewpoints and fantastic archaelogical remains (Chan de Arquiña),etc.

MEIRA

The unpredictable terrain of Moaña gave rise to two little coves with large socioeconomic and landscape conditions, with huge sandy spots where shellfishing of barnacles, clams and razor shells is done standing and one island: San Bartolomeu island, as well as a route of hiking next to a wonderful wild oak groves.

SAN MARTIÑO

It stands in the highest area of the town and constitutes its origin too. It is an important place where visitors can gaze at San Martiño Romanesque church.

TIRÁN

This one is the parish which has the greatest number of ports(among them standing out that of Mosquera and O Con) and multiple beaches.

BEACHES AND OTHER PLACES

All the south area is coastline: 20 Kms of beaches (Domaio, A Borna, A Xunqueira, O Almacén, Tirán, O Canaval, A Sobreira, O Porto, O Con (awarded a Blue Flag) ), that constitute a perfect combination of tourism and industry (related to sea and the production of shellfish).

There are other interesting places as some rambling routes and several viewpoints: standing out the path next to O Río da Fraga, the marshlands in Meira, the Río da Ponte, the Miradoiro da Fraga, the Miradoiro de Domaio and the stone dolmen in Chan de Arquiña.

From an architectonical point of view some churches and chapels are remarkable(San Martiño church and San Xoán de Tirán church) and the most significant Galician ethnographic elements: the stone crosses (or Cruceros).
